Young-Life Crisis

 They say that people go through mid-life crisis's.  I'm going through a young-life crisis.  What the heck do I mean?  I feel "OLD" after seeing the word "Prom" or I just used skype for the first time and the person on the other end saw a black box while I saw her clearly.  I realized I didn't have the right cam....duh.  My young life also refers to a friend from high school getting married.  Keep in mind I knew girls in high school having kids and pregnant during senior year.  I think this is good b/c it builds my endurance for the dreaded and beautiful children ahead.  One day of course.  My young-life crisis also refers to realizing the people I grew up with as kids are graduating College.  Holy Smokes!  Amazing.  Life is really going fast.  Praise God for everything to come ans for all the previous memories.  One day at a time.........  In the wods of Yoda:

When 900 years you reach, look as good, you will not.
-- Yoda

Live for the day and Live for Jesus young Jedi's =).

Thanks to Mohawk Mike for reminding me about this verse:

Psalm 51 (New American Standard Bible)

Psalm 51

A Contrite Sinner's Prayer for Pardon.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.
    1Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness;
         According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.
    2Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity
And cleanse me from my sin.
    3For I know my transgressions,
         And my sin is ever before me.
    4Against You, You only, I have sinned
         And done what is evil in Your sight,
         So that You are justified when You speak
         And blameless when You judge.
    5Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
         And in sin my mother conceived me.
    6Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being,
         And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.
    7Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
         Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
    8Make me to hear joy and gladness,
         Let the bones which You have broken rejoice.
    9Hide Your face from my sins
         And blot out all my iniquities.
    10Create in me a clean heart, O God,
         And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
    11Do not cast me away from Your presence
         And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
    12Restore to me the joy of Your salvation
         And sustain me with a willing spirit.
    13Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
         And sinners will be converted to You.
    14Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation;
         Then my tongue will joyfully sing of Your righteousness.
    15O Lord, open my lips,
         That my mouth may declare Your praise.
    16For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it;
         You are not pleased with burnt offering.
    17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
         A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.
    18By Your favor do good to Zion;
         Build the walls of Jerusalem.
    19Then You will delight in righteous sacrifices,
         In burnt offering and whole burnt offering;
         Then young bulls will be offered on Your altar.

Psalm 51 has some beautiful musical renditions from the Renaissance. Of course it was used a lot for Lent, so a lot of people must have written music for it. If you can follow in Latin, it’s wonderful, but even if you can’t (whether you speak Latin or not), reading Psalm 51 with the music on can bring out the power of the Holy Spirit in the Psalm.

Thanks for sharing TK! This is a very beautiful psalm. When I reread the passage about what David did to Uriah, I was utterly horrified. Moreso this time around than when I last read it. Even though David was and is my favorite biblical character, I cringed with how tarnished he really was despite all the great things he did for Israel. Yet truly, God did forgive him for his horrible deed because time and again, He preserves his line for his sake. It's difficult for me to get over mistakes I've made (I think I hesitate a lot even in class because of this fear of making mistakes), and with such a one like this, I don't know how I'd get over it. David's repentance is felt even with these words though, and I'm sure he had many more to go with this Psalm. Thank God that He forgives and loves us after our failures.
